January 29. First inductees to the Baseball Hall of Fame announced. 1936.In Cooperstown, New York the first Baseball Hall of Fame inductees pose for a group portrait in the summer of 1939. They are: standing- Honus Wagner, Grover   Cleveland Alexander, Tris Speaker, Nap Lajoie, George Sisler, Walter Johnson, and  seated - Eddie Collins, Babe Ruth, Connie Mack, Cy Young.
