"And what's that big, pink elephant doing in the left field stands?" asks Boston Braves captain Johnny Evers.  The discussion is going on at home plate before game two of the World Series in Shibe Park on October 10, 1914.  Ira Thomas represents the Philadelphia Athletics, while the umpiring crew includes Bill Dinneen (obscured), George Hildebrand, Bill Klem (obscured), and Bill Byron.  Once the ground rules are set, Evers and his upstart mates will perform another miracle and take the Series from the favored A's in four games.
