Baseball player Marty Marion Flying In

Baseball player Marty Marion takes advantage.  The ball has come in - one bounce right smack in the palm of Chicago Cubs third baseman Stan Hack.  Fleet footed Marty Marion is flying into third and Hack has a chance to get him.This photograph has been the favorite action shot of many who have encountered it.  Public relations photographer Scotty Bjurstrom took the photo at Wrigley Field in 1947.  Odds are good that Marion was safe.
