Fire Wagon Flying at Full Speed

Fire-Wagon-Full-Speed.jpg

What is more exciting in a photograph than action?  Especially action caught at an instant in time where all things are clear and in their place, forming a cohesive composition.  So, is this real photo postcard exciting, or what?  It took a fine camera with a speedy shutter to get this shot.  I wonder if the photographer had the wagon pass two or three times to get this lovely image. All the other fire department postcards I have see show a uniformed group posed with their fire truck or in front of their brickwork firehouse.  Action photography was much more difficult.  This photo leaves no clues as to the name of the fire company or even the city they worked in.I felt lucky to have found this image, since I had always wanted to see what one of these wagons looked like racing down a street at full speed.  And here it is.  It's not a big pumper, or a hook and ladder job, but this compact wagon is flying.
