Summer Farmers Markets

Summer Farmers' Markets are attracting thousands of customers seeking the best organic and locally grown foods to adorn their tables.  Here is a 19th century image of a market in the streets of Roanoke.  What we know is farmers' markets preceded trading posts and merchants. Farmers grew for their neighbours and the towns people. Then merchants became the middle person and  today we can add distributors into the mix.  So much nicer to buy direct from your local farmers and support their family farms.
