The First Cleveland Indian
Here we see a large portrait of Lou Sockalexis, the first Cleveland Indian. He was a brief major league star for the Cleveland Spiders. The Cleveland Indians were said to have been named for him, but no firm proof has been produced. But I, and many others, think the Club should honor him and his legacy and put a racist tradition to rest by incorporating his portrait into their logo. Say goodbye to the cartoon Wahoo.
