Why do I like this little circular 1880s cigar box label so much? I’m trying to figure it out. Though it will be mostly about color – and there is a spectrum of bright colors present in the piece. In addition, the clean work by the lithographer, catching a look in the eyes of the fancily dressed couple, expressive of their superiority. And, I think as a square label this image would have been less successful.
So – congrats to the unknown litho company, who made this little gem?
