Native American Baseball Teams

Native American Baseball Teams.Indian Baseball Team BradleyTeams came in all shapes and sizes, and all colors. The mixed race teams were common in Cuba, but never in the United States until the 1950s.  Often no more than one black player was on a team, there because of his outstanding ability, no doubt. Native American players had a better time of it, but not much. The Nebraska Indians was a successful barnstorming squad out of Lincoln. They had Indian players for the most part, with white fill-ins varying in number each year. Looks like only three or so white players on this version, probably from 1910.MICHIGAN - CIRCA 1908: The Cherokee Indian baseball club poses for a team portrait in front of their giant banner circa 1908 at their Michigan home.
