Comedian Fred Allen

FredAllenonCBS6.jpg

This publicity 8x10 of radio comedian Fred Allen suits him perfectly. His funny, even silly, dialogues provided a sharp wit for audiences and brought him more censorship than any other broadcaster of his day. His show "Allen's Alley" was the most popular of all his radio endeavors, after a long career in vaudeville, theater, and finally broadcasting. At the time this photograph was created Allen was working for CBS on a show called the "Texaco Star Theater." That gives the photo a date between 1940 and 1942.Please share your comments below or share this blog with your friends on Social Media, "tweet" or “like” this page on FB.Looking for the perfect picture for your next project?
