Cody, Wyoming Horsewomen in Their Baseball Uniforms

Here are some Cody, Wyoming horsewomen who are very sure of themselves and clearly having fun in their baseball uniforms posing for the camera circa 1905.  Photos are excellent at capturing people in all kinds of moods, activities, and times of day.  I really appreciate candid pictures showing people who are comfortable in their skins.  That comfort is communicated many ways including the subjects’ bearing and how they are interacting. These young women from Cody, Wyoming were no doubt raised on ranches, were more familiar with horses than cars, and saw no chance that baseball would harm any lady-like demeanors.

  1. Love this! I am going to make some “name ornament” place cards for my gutses, and then they can take their ornament home and place it on their tree.
