This 1920s real photo postcard of a Native American or rather First Nations mother was taken somewhere on the west coast of Canada. It just makes me happy when I look at it. This mother exudes a deep appreciation and connection to life, which is then expressed in the joyfulness of her thriving baby. It would be nice if mothers everywhere could have a moment like this. And it would be nice if every camera could capture an instant of transcendent reflected light, like this.
